Presentations: Slides & Layouts

Master slide layouts, element types, backgrounds, and transitions to build polished decks.

Slide Layouts

Each slide has a layout that controls the default arrangement of title, body, and images. Change the layout anytime from the properties panel on the right.

  • Title Slide: Large centered title with subtitle
  • Title + Content: Title with body text below
  • Two Column: Side-by-side content columns
  • Image Left: Image on left, text on right
  • Image Right: Text on left, image on right
  • Full Image: Full-bleed background image
  • Blank: Empty canvas for free-form layout
  • Section Divider: Bold section break between topics
  • Quote: Featured quote with attribution

Adding, Reordering & Duplicating Slides

Add: Click the + button at the bottom of the thumbnail sidebar, or use the slide action bar above the stage.

Reorder: Drag slides in the thumbnail sidebar to rearrange them.

Duplicate: Right-click a thumbnail or use the slide context menu → Duplicate.

Delete: Select a slide and press Delete or use the context menu.

Slide Elements

In Content mode, slides contain positioned elements. Add elements via the slide action bar or toolbar.

  • Text: Rich HTML text with fonts, sizes, colors, and alignment.
  • Image: Upload or paste images. Supports filters, frames, clips, and an inline editor.
  • Shape: 90+ shape variants with solid or gradient fills, strokes, shadows, and rounded corners.
  • Chart: 8 chart types (bar, line, pie, etc.) with an interactive data editor.
  • Code: Syntax-highlighted code blocks with dark/light themes.
  • List: Ordered or unordered lists with custom colors.
  • Quote: Stylized quote block with optional attribution.
  • Icon: Lucide icons with customizable color and size.

Working with Text

Double-click any text element to enter inline editing. A floating toolbar appears with bold, italic, underline, text color, font family, font size, and alignment options.

Text elements have a role property (title or body) that determines default sizing from the active theme. You can override font, size, and color per-element.

Working with Images

Drag an image file onto the stage, or add an image element and paste a URL. Images support object-fit (cover, contain, fill), border radius, and an inline image editor with crop, filters, annotations, and more.

See the Image Editor article for full details.

Shapes & Icons

Add shapes from the slide action bar. The shape library includes 90+ variants across basic shapes, arrows, flowchart symbols, and decorative elements.

Each shape supports solid or gradient fills (linear/radial with custom stops), stroke color/width/style, corner rounding, and drop-shadow presets. You can snap a text element to a shape to create labeled shapes.

Icons: Add Lucide icons as elements with customizable color and size.

Backgrounds

  • Image: Upload a background image or drag-and-drop. Also supports AI-generated backgrounds via the Sparkles button.
  • Solid Color: Pick from theme-derived swatches or enter a custom hex. The picker shows 25+ preset colors.
  • Gradient: Use the gradient designer with configurable direction, stops, and presets. Supports linear and radial gradients.
  • AI Generated: Click the AI button in the background picker to generate a custom background image with a text prompt.

Transitions

Set a transition per-slide from the properties panel. Directional transitions automatically reverse when navigating backward. Three speed settings are available: Slow (0.8s), Normal (0.4s), and Fast (0.2s).
